Canon PowerShot S95 Customer Review

When this review created, this Canon PowerShot S95 has 4.4 out of 5 stars. Many people bought this product. It means this digital camera has a good reputation enough. Here I’ll try to review the pros and cons of this product.

Pros:
Canon PowerShot S95• Small ,simplistic, classy design and pocketable. Canon PowerShot S95 is very conveniently sized and you can virtually take it anywhere.
• Great “auto” setting photos.
• Fun setting “tweaks” (my colors, fish eye lens etc.)
• Canon PowerShot S95 have manual controls and control ring, great low-light/no flash results.
• The hand strap can be placed on either sider of the camera.
• This Canon PowerShot S95  is just as easy to use.
• Razor sharp LCD screen .
• Control wheel, in addition to the rear dial, makes setting options much faster.
• Great image quality, with sharpness nearing SLR’s.
• Built-in HDR mode is awesome for scenic photos.
• Very good low-light performance: ISO 3200 can make a room illuminated only by a monitor.
• seem like it’s taken during day (noisy though, but the colors were there) See pics.

Cons:
• The power on button is a little small.
• no viewfinder but the screen is very good.
• No printed manual. This is my most valuable tip! Buy Alexander White’s book: Photographer’s Guide To The Canon PowerShot S95. It serves as a much better resource than Canon’s guide and pdf manual. Trust me, you won’t want to print the pdf manual and it’s not nearly as useful as White’s guide. Plus White offers something that Canon does not: an opinion.
• I think that after you hit about 300~400 ISO, the pictures start to become hard to look at which will definitely limit your options.
• I’ve also noticed that the front glass of Canon PowerShot S95 gets dirty very quickly, and because it’s so small, it’s near impossible to clean.
• awkward flash placement. I’m having to learn not to instinctively place my left index finger where the flash pops up.

Conclusioan:
Over all Canon PowerShot S95 takes very good photos, with little noise. It handles indoor shots with different kinds of lighting very well, outdoor shots are beautiful and the colors are vibrant.
I think this Canon PowerShot S95 would be great for someone who’s just getting into photography but knows they want to eventually do more than auto-shoot, and for someone like me who’s returning after a long hiatus from photography.
